While speaking at Harvard University on Friday, retiring Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) was confronted by a group of deranged climate activists.
The climate activists repeatedly told Manchin that he has used his office to enrich himself. “You sold our futures and you’ve gotten rich doing it. You sick f**k!” one of the activists proclaimed.
Manchin immediately popped out of his seat and appeared ready to eject the agitator himself before a security guard got in between them. “How dare you! You sold out futures,” the activist continued before the security guard effortlessly tossed him to the ground.
Video footage of the hilarious altercation was posted to X by the Climate Defiance group. “BREAKING: we just called Joe Manchin a sick f**k. We humiliated him in front of a herd of Harvard elites. He squared up. We held firm. Barbaric murderer, hideous fiend, he torches humanity and laughs,” the group wrote.
After the climate activist was manhandled, his colleagues continued to lecture Manchin for “selling out their futures” and rejected his offer to have a discussion. “Protect our futures, not our profits!” the group chanted.
Manchin has long served as a swing vote in the Senate as he hails from one of the most pro-Trump states in the country. Since his first election in 2010, Manchin has voted with Republicans on a number of important matters while siding with Democrats in others.
The longtime senator did announce his retirement last year, however, as his support in the state has been waning due to his support of President Biden’s massive infrastructure bills.
Manchin had been considering a potential presidential bid with the No Labels party, though he ruled out the idea for good earlier this month.
