Legendary rapper 50 Cent reacted with disgust to a news report about Maine’s plan to house dozens of illegal aliens through taxpayer-funded programs.
The Maine State Housing Authority has set aside roughly $3.5 million to pay the rents of more than 50 illegal alien families for up to two years. The families will be housed in five different units across the town of Brunswick for at least two years.
50 cent appeared stunned and disgusted by the plan in a recent Instagram post. In a post captioned “WTF,” the rapper reacted in real time to a Fox News report on the plan, which has been modeled in a number of additional states, particularly 50’s home state of New York.
“I do not understand this,” the “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” artist told his 30 million followers. “$3.5 million to taxpayers,” he added with clear shock and disgust in his voice.
Other cities — such as Chicago and New York — have spent tens-of-millions of dollars on housing for illegal aliens. The cities have become popular destinations for border crossers due to their “sanctuary city” laws, which prevent local law enforcement from coordinating with federal immigration officials on deportations and apprehensions.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has begged the federal government for help, stating that the city’s social series are failing under the weight of the unending surge. In total, illegal immigration will end up costing the city more than $5 billion over the past year alone. Other estimates have pegged the cost north of $10 billion in New York alone.
