Ex-Defense Department Official: There is No Desire in US to Keep Financing Ukraine War – Trump News Today

[ad_1]

Former Pentagon official Michael Maloof believes that Congress and the Defense Department will have a “tumultuous” start in 2024. The current gridlock forming around the Biden regime’s proposal to send billions of military aid to Ukraine showcases how there’s “no stomach” to bankroll Ukraine in DC.

The former senior security policy analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense issued the words during an interview with Russian media, where also stressed that the only way for Ukraine to get out of this mess is through negotiations based on the current circumstances on the battlefield, which don’t augur well for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

Based on his analysis, Maloof declared that “the war is over”.

In a recent interview Maloof said the following

The United States has their appropriations hung up. The US government could shut down by January 17 if the administration and Congress can’t negotiate and work out an arrangement for funding Ukraine and Israel, but at the same time to enforce the border. I think the Republicans to date have held firm, and we’ll see if they’ll hold on. But there’s no stomach right now any longer to fund the Ukrainians.

Frankly, the people see that the war is over. Basically, the (Ukrainian) counteroffensive failed, and there’s no way that they can pick it back up and turn things around, because they’ve gone into total defensive mode. The so-called counteroffensive just does not exist.

“We have got to worry about our whether our government is even going to be open for business,” he continued. Maloof added, “there is a second tranche in February that would shut down as well if they have not reached a resolution on funding the government agencies the way the House has dictated.”

Anyone with a functioning set of eyes recognizes that Ukraine is screwed on the battlefield against. Russia enjoys a huge advantage in terms of manpower and firepower against the Ukrainians. The West supplying it with billions of military aid temporarily created the illusion that Ukraine could put up a fight against Russia.

This could not be further from the truth. Continuing this farcical geopolitical endeavor will only ensure the absolute destruction of Ukraine as a coherent state.
