United States Funding for Ukraine is Expected to Run Out by the End of 2024 – Trump News Today

The Biden regime recently issued a stern warning that the United States is projected to run out of funds to aid Ukraine militarily by the end of 2023, declaring that a failure by Congress to greenlight new support would “kneecap” the authorities in Ukraine.

Shalanda Young, the White House budget director, sent a letter to congressional leaders on December 4, 2023 giving a dire assessment of Ukraine’s funding situation. “Without congressional action, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to procure more weapons and equipment for Ukraine and to provide equipment from US military stocks,” Young said to the leaders of the Democrat and Republican parties in the letter. “There is no magical pot of funding available to meet this moment. We are out of money — and nearly out of time,” she added. President Joe Biden’s request for $106 billion in emergency funding for foreign policy priorities in Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific region has remained stagnant in Washington, DC thanks to opposition from Republican lawmakers.

Several elected officials in the US have been trying to hammer out a bipartisan deal that would feature aid for Ukraine in addition to new immigration and asylum procedures to reduce the number of illegal aliens arriving in the US via its southern border.

Even if lawmakers can reach an agreement in the Senate, there are still doubts that this bill can be passed in the US House.

On December 4, Johnson said that Congress could give the green light to Ukraine aid if Democrats approved additional funding for security at the southern border. “The Biden administration has failed to substantively address any of my conference’s legitimate concerns about the lack of a clear strategy in Ukraine, a path to resolving the conflict, or a plan for adequately ensuring accountability for aid provided by American taxpayers,” declared Johnson in a statement. “We believe both issues can be agreed upon if Senate Democrats and the White House will negotiate reasonably,” Johnson continued.

Young cautioned Congress that ending the deployment of US weapons and equipment would “kneecap Ukraine on the battlefield, not only putting at risk the gains Ukraine has made, but increasing the likelihood of Russian military victories.”

“Already, our packages of security assistance have become smaller and the deliveries of aid have become more limited . . . while our allies around the world have stepped up to do more, US support is critical and cannot be replicated by others,” she continued.

On top of that, Young indicated that Ukraine also needed economic aid, which is in danger of being completely roadblocked. “If Ukraine’s economy collapses, they will not be able to keep fighting, full stop,” she wrote. “Putin understands this well, which is why Russia has made destroying Ukraine’s economy central to its strategy — which you can see in its attacks against Ukraine’s grain exports and energy infrastructure.”

Since the launch of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the Biden regime has approved $111 billion in aid in Ukraine.

“While we cannot predict exactly which US companies will be awarded new contracts, we do know the funding will be used to acquire advanced capabilities to defend against attacks on civilians in Israel and Ukraine — for example, air defence systems built in Alabama, Texas and Georgia and vital subcomponents sourced from nearly all 50 states,” she said in a concluding remark.

Hopefully, gridlock comes out as the victor in this budgetary kerfuffle. The US should not be sending another cent to Ukraine. This conflict is very much a preventable tragedy and will only worsen if the US continues sending military aid to and pursuing escalatory measures in Ukraine in order to bleed Rusia dry.

For once, can the GOP be useful and throw a wrench in the DC regime’s anti-Middle American agenda.
