Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) refused to condemn the reported slaughter of babies in an Israeli settlement by members of the terrorist group Hamas, which launched a surprise attack against the Jewish state last weekend.

Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent, was asked repeatedly by Fox News correspondent Hillary Vaughn as they walked down a hallway in the Capitol Building if she condemned the reported mutilation and burning of infants and children, but she refused to utter a word.

“Hamas terrorists have cut off babies’ heads and burned children alive. Do you support Israel’s right to defend themselves against such brutality?” the Fox News correspondent asked.

At another point, as she continued to trail Tlaib, Vaughn pressed, “You can’t comment about Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads?” And: “Do Israeli lives not matter to you?”

Tlaib was also ripped for posting a Palestinian flag outside her office, which drew support from fellow Democrats.

Fox News added:

FOX News’ Lawrence Jones pressed top Democrats on Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., flying the Palestinian flag outside her office and the Biden administration previously greenlighting $6 billion to Iran as bloodshed continues to engulf the Israel-Gaza border.

The “FOX & Friends” co-host tracked down several lawmakers on Capitol Hill as Tlaib faces backlash after her recent refusal to condemn Hamas for brutally killing Israeli women and children. He asked them how they felt about her flying the controversial flag.

“This is America,” Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) said when Jones asked him about her flag. “You’re allowed (inaudible) the flag that you prefer.”

“I think she has every right to have that Palestinian flag,” Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal said.

“She’s Palestinian… that doesn’t mean she’s a terrorist,” Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer added. “It doesn’t mean that she condones this.”

Fox noted that the Michigan Democrat has had a Palestinian flag outside of her congressional office near the Capitol at least since January. Also, her support for the Palestinians is common knowledge. But after the Hamas surprise attack that left more than 1,000 Israelis dead and at least 22 Americans, the Washington Examiner’s Reese Gorman took a photo of the flag and posted it to the X platform, where it went viral.

As of Tuesday morning, the flag took a position of prominence outside Tlaib’s office, Fox News noted.

As Tlaib and her staff entered an elevator, Vaughn asked the congresswoman why she continues to have a Palestinian flag displayed outside her office in light of what has happened.

“Congresswoman, why do you have the Palestinian flag outside your office if you do not condone what Hamas terrorists have done to Israel? Do Israeli lives not matter to you?” she asked before Tlaib exited the hallway.

Meanwhile, a growing chorus of Republicans have pressed the Biden administration to refreeze $6 billion in Iranian assets after the attack over Tehran’s known support for Hamas.

“Speaker Pelosi, should we freeze that $6 billion?” Fox News’ Jones asked Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. “The Biden administration said we have the ability to do that.”

“I haven’t heard that,” she replied.

On Thursday, the New York Post noted that President Joe Biden claimed to have seen “confirmed pictures of terrorists beheading children” in southern Israel after members of the Hamas terrorist organization reportedly butchered 40 babies over the weekend, but later, the White House walked that back.

“I never really thought that I would see and have confirmed pictures of terrorists beheading children. I never thought I’d ever — anyway,” Biden told Jewish group leaders at the White House on Wednesday.

However, the Washington Post reported that neither Biden nor other U.S. officials had actually seen such images or heard reports that were independently confirmed regarding beheaded children, according to a White House spokesperson.

The White House later claimed that Biden’s remark was premised on claims made by a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as media reports coming from Israel following the attack by Hamas.
